Last Friday we were extremely privileged to have the opportunity to spend some time with Phillip Lipman – Founder and former owner of Phillip Lipman Constructions. Phillip joined us in Head Office for a light lunch.
Shortly after moving to Australia from South Africa in 1966, Phillip accepted a General Manager position with a local construction company. Not long after joining the company, Phillip became deeply concerned about the ethics of the business. He witnessed a culture marked by dishonesty, distrust and a blatant lack of respect for the people they were doing business with – including their own employees. In his words….. “there had to be a better way.”
With a young family in a foreign country, Phillip took it upon himself to find the “better” way and Phillip Lipman Constructions was established the same year.
From the outset, Phillip established a business that respected its clients and subcontractors; a business that demanded integrity and most of all; a business that genuinely cared for its people.
53 years on… Phillip is extremely proud that these values are still being honoured today.
