MARIST CATHOLIC COLLEGE

NORTH SHORE – STAGE 2B

Overview

Learning, growth, and community connection.

The Stage 2B Carlow Street Building marks the second major project our team has proudly delivered for Marist Catholic College North Shore, following the successful completion of the Stage 2A Wing Building. This continued partnership reflects our commitment to supporting educational excellence through high-quality construction.

Located in the heart of North Sydney, this project plays a key role in the school’s vision to create a vibrant, innovative, and highly connected vertical education precinct serving students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Once the Masterplan is fully realised, the campus will accommodate up to 2,000 students.

The scope of Stage 2B included the demolition of existing school buildings and the construction of a new facility comprising a basement car park and four levels of advanced learning spaces and amenities. A rooftop playground adds a unique outdoor element to the vertical campus. Following the completion of the new building, the existing library was refurbished and repurposed to complement the updated campus design.

Delivered within a live school environment, the project required careful planning and execution to ensure minimal disruption to daily operations. Innovative construction solutions were implemented to overcome the challenges of a constrained site, including relocating street overhead power lines underground to ease cranage restrictions and installing a materials hoist within the atrium to facilitate efficient vertical movement of materials.

Architectural highlights include jumbo-sized glazed façade panels, custom shelf angles supporting hanging brickwork, brick slip soffit linings, and off-form concrete finishes throughout the open atrium core. Sustainability was also a key focus, with 99KV of photovoltaic panels installed on the rooftop.

The Stage 2B building is successfully delivered on time and to the highest standard, providing the school community with cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art learning environments. This project not only enhances the educational experience but also reinforces our dedication to building spaces that inspire learning, growth, and community connection.
