Once again, we were privileged to host our second Abbotsleigh Senior School Student Engagement Workshop together with AJC Architects. This time, the focus was on Architectural Design. We want to thank AJC for their presentation and the interactive activities that got the students’ creative minds ticking.

Topics included initial architectural concept design, design constraints, ecological sustainability, stakeholder management, passive solar building attributes, construction monitoring and 3D modelling, all of which were presented in a way that inspired the students to see the practical application of these concepts in their future careers.

Of particular interest were the design principles behind the new Science and Arts Buildings constructed at the school by Lipman two years ago. These principles allowed the students to understand the how and why behind the buildings’ design.

Lipman and Abbotsleigh School hope these Student Engagement Workshops will open students’ eyes to the many career opportunities that exist when they leave year 12.
