Overview
Adaptive reuse
YHA Sydney Central was created from the adaptive reuse of the old Daking House office building near central railway, Sydney.
The development involved the partial ‘gutting’ of this 80 year old building and the creation of a 530 bed Hostel. The project included the construction of new restaurants, reception and administration facilities, new bathrooms and kitchens, a new upper level lift from level 9 to 10 and recreational facilities including a new swimming pool on level 10.
