Upgrade of the Western Grandstand
The project consisted of the upgrade of the western grandstand at Penrith Stadium including the retention of the existing grandstand’s superstructure (steel and concrete) and adding structural steel framework to the existing grandstand.
Other works included a new media facility, extending the existing western grandstand to the south that incorporated a new three level structure comprising a 300 person function centre, mezzanine level administration facilities and new player amenities and gymnasium on the ground floor.
In addition, a new concourse with an additional 2,700 individual seats was constructed and existing player amenities were refurbished.
The playing surface renewal included the installation of irrigation, subsoil drainage, new field lighting and the construction of a 140,000 litre retention tank for use on the field of play.
