Overview
A new, modern best-in-class facility
This project involved the construction of a new 80 bed Residential Aged Care Facility for BaptistCare including a new café, kitchens, laundry services, medical rooms, treatment rooms, utility rooms, landscaping, new road construction and services infrastructure upgrades.
This project involved a multiple staged delivery model, with various staged elements to facilitate the new build and move of residents into the existing facility – detailed as follows:
Construction of a new temporary kitchen and support pathways and initial services upgrades.
Part demolition of existing structure to allow for the new building
Staged handover of facility allowing residents time to move into the new building whilst decanting the old building
A nominated period of time for staff and resident familiarisation in new building
Demolition and landscaping of the old building and footprint
The project was particularly challenging during the back end of COVID19, as was managing the impacts of inclement weather and site remediation works. Ultimately the Lipman team with the support of its Subcontractors and Consultants, at project completion, have provided a class-leading facility for BaptistCare despite the most challenging circumstances.
Lipman, along with our subcontractors, the majority of which are local Wagga Wagga based, have been able to complete and deliver a facility for their local community that they can look back on with pride.
The achieved end result is a new, modern facility to serve the community and residents for many years to come.
