Overview
World class education
& workspace precinct
The Macquarie University Arts Precinct Project consisted of an upgrade and expansion of the W6A and W6B buildings that house the Faculty of Arts.
Floorspace was increased from 11,000sqm to 12,300sqm to accommodate workplace, research and teaching activities. It created a new museum and office building. The new building includes new office space to highlight the work, research and achievements of the faculty. The new museum space consolidates the Ancient History Museum (numerous collections), Numismatics and the Australian History Museum.
A new atrium space was created to connect the precinct. It included a 3,000sqm of glazed and ETFE roof, outdoor courtyards, terraced areas and bridge links to connect the buildings and offer covered access.

Highlights
Façade elements
The façade elements are a major feature in the construction of buildings W6B, W6C and the interconnecting link bridge. The design intent was to allow everyone to have a view, no matter where they were within the building.
