Molong NSW Ambulance Station - 2019 NSW MBA AWARD WINNER

NSW Health Infrastructure

Design and Construct

Project Description

2019 MBA Award Winner – Commercial Projects – $3m to 5m – NSW Western Regions

The Molong Rural Ambulance Infrastructure Reconfiguration (RAIR) project consisted of a single storey building, comprising of living/relief quarters, staff car parking, garage to house 3 response vehicles, vehicle wash down, a communal area with kitchen, medical store, changing room and administrative areas. In addition, there were external civil works with a retaining wall and minor landscaping works plus electrical and sewer main diversion.  The excavation of the large retaining wall was a noteworthy/engineering challenge which was well executed through careful on-site planning and monitoring with the project team.

The construction works involved civil/excavation works, waffle pod concrete slab on piles, light weight steel framing, metal roofing and cladding façade, internal fitout and landscaping works.

This project was a major development for the Molong Community with strong local involvement from local subcontractors and consultants.  The project was undertaken with minimal disruption to the operating hospital and surrounding local residents.  It was completed within the construction program time frame with zero LTIs and a safe working environment for subcontractors and general public.

This rural ambulance station has resulted in improved health emergency services for Molong and surrounding rural areas. Another great project for the community.
