The Sails Resort project team accomplished a project milestone on Saturday, 17th June 2017 by successfully removing the existing atrium structure, weighing in at 8.4 tonne. The atrium roof was removed and placed within the carpark to be demolished. This was determined to be the best course of action to reduce safety risks (height over 12m) and enable continued works within the building structure.
Works were completed by 1 crane driver, 3 dogman, 4 boilmakers, 7 demolition employees, 1 carpenter and 4 Lipman staff.
The process of securing the structures weight, oxy cutting structural supports and lifting was completed smoothly and without any issues.
Big thanks to Mid Coast Cranes, Port Demolition, PH. Brown, His Spec Constructions and Lipman Staff (Doug Rielly, David Sinclair, Darren Kelly and Justin Maas).
