GALLIPOLI RACF ACHIEVE PRACTICAL COMPLETION
May 07, 2018
A big congratulations to the Gallipoli RACF team on achieving Practical Completion and the huge amount of effort that was put into delivering this quality Aged Care Facility for the Muslim community!
“Gallipoli RACF Project at Auburn, achieved Practical Completion on the 7th May 2018, to the satisfaction of the Client, and Project team, completing 18 months of construction. The Project, located within the shadows of the Auburn Mosque Minarets, has been designed as a culturally specific aged care facility, with 102 beds over three floors.
Every project has its challenges and the team tackled and managed them at every turn!
The project had a number of culturally sensitive aspects, including façade screening, pray rooms, kitchen design, and even WC pan orientation and bidets.
The project was secured after a long lead time during which Lipman completed an early works package of sewer main diversion works. Once the contract was awarded, the build got off to a challenging start with in ground Asbestos issues, prolonged periods of wet weather during the excavation stage (the team became very competent at dewatering). All challenges which soaked up a significant period of time early in the programme. The project team strategically put an effective management plan together to push the structure of the project which placed the project back on schedule.
The end result speaks for itself, with a project attracting much favourable comment across the industry and the local Islamic Community.
