Bupa Sutherland Celebrates Reaching New Heights

On Wednesday December 18, our Bupa Sutherland Project site team reached a major milestone and hosted a Topping Out Ceremony with our client, Bupa, to celebrate.

Now that the project has reached the top floor, the team presented James Heeks, Development Manager for Bupa, with a tree, symbolic of reaching new heights and giving back to the environment.

The team also encouraged all guests on the day to wear their TradeMutt shirts, in support of bringing men’s mental health to the forefront of all minds, making an invisible issue impossible to ignore and to start conversations and awareness.

Congratulations to the team for also reaching 100,000 hours of zero Loss Time Injuries (LTIs) for this project, which meant receiving the Lipman Gold Hard Hat Safety Award.

The Aged Care Facility will comprise of 82 Independent Living Units (ILUs) housed in two buildings on top of a common, 2 level basement. Included in the development is a range of in-house facilities such as a pool, multi-purpose rooms and a café, which will all be contained on the ground floor.

As part of a land-swap deal with the Council, the adjacent vacant lot has been upgraded to a park (pictured below) with both hard and soft landscaping, which was opened on Thursday, December 19 by Cr Carmelo Pesce, Sutherland Shire Mayor and James Heeks, Development Manager for Bupa.
