2 Bligh Street Achieve Practical Completion
June 10, 2018
The 2 Bligh Street team, have achieved Practical Completion on the 6th of June 2018, after completing 12 months of construction.
The Project involved the refurbishment and upgrade of a 14 storey, 1957 office building located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. Due to the outdated appearance of the building and in order to realise its high rent potential, the building has been modernised with a new façade and complete replacement of all services, plant and equipment.
The Project faced its challenges, which comes with any project based in the CBD. In order to complete the refurbishment, a tower crane was fixed to the roof of the building with hydraulic loading decks installed on every level to load out demolition material and load in material to complete the new façade, services and interior finishes of the building. With a loading zone of only 12 metres in length, on one of the busiest streets in Sydney, the site team did an excellent job in managing and planning deliveries of materials throughout the construction period.
The 2 Bligh Street Project now fits in with its high profile neighbours, such as the Wentworth Hotel, 1 Bligh Street, Chifley Square and Governor Phillip Tower, much to the delight of the Client, City Freeholds, who own a number of properties within the CBD and in the Greater Sydney region.
We’d like to thank all team members involved throughout the project.
